A House with No Plans

My yet-to-be-announced neighbor is building a new house across the street from me. Over the past three or four months, we have watched the workers bring the house–one small step at a time–out of the ground. And now that we can start to see what it will finally look like, boy, is it a beauty! With multiple roof-line angles, a full basement, and about 5,000 square feet (at least that’s what one of my other neighbors told me), this is truly somebody’s dream home.

Here’s the thing: this house didn’t just pop up out of nowhere in an instant. Long before the first shovel of dirt was moved, someone somewhere  Continue Reading »

  • The universe demonstrates remarkable complexity, therefore the Cause must be, not only intelligent, but super-intelligent
  • The universe shows a tremendously diverse array of life, plants, and heavenly bodies, therefore the Cause must be immeasurably creative
  • Life on earth is built to sustain life, therefore the Cause must be loving
  • Humanity shows an inner moral sense, therefore the Cause must be a moral being[1]

2 Names and 2 Numbers: Does God exist and does it matter to me? Part 1

[This is the first of a two-part article. To read Part 2 click here.]

Let me start this article by asking you a simple question: What is God’s first name? Or, what was the first name God gave Himself in the Bible? Let me show you an interesting portion of the Bible that gives us the answer. Keep this passage in the back of your mind as this article progresses. We’ll make an interesting tie-in at the end; see if you can figure it out before we get there.
